DIGITAL SPACE

17 November 2007 - 18 January 2008

Collectif_Fact, Switzerland
ELECTRONIC SHADOW, France
ANNETT ZINSMEISTER, Germany

In their computergenerated animations, the artist-trio collectif_fact from Geneva look at the impact of man-made environments, whereas they do not create realistic imitations of life situations but tell narrative dream sequences as movie episodes. The exhibition shows 2 animations, which take the viewer on associative journeys through deserted cities or snowy landscapes at night. These poetic trips irritate in a playful way, confront us with our expectations – a tightrope walk between poetry and nightmare.

The artworks of Electronic Shadow captivate through their aesthetics – light and colour are carefully chosen - and are interactive. For the purpose of the exhibition the artist couple has built 1 models of Ex-isles, an originally large installation shown all around the world and Vibrations, a water sculpture. They consist of water pools whose movements and colouring are influenced by the viewer.

In her in Berlin developed works, Annett Zinsmeister is looking at the cultural and constructive condition of architecture. Her light boxes show Plattenbauten from the series outside_in/virtual pulled inside out, their exterior surfaces are projected into interior 3-d spaces. The C-print series Modulare Utopien orginate from her examination of utopian potentials of mass architectur, they are visionary compositions of future variation in serial succession.

TUMBLING DREAM CHAMBERS

6 July - 11 August 2007

boredomresearch, United Kingdom

We are interested in building observable phenomena of intrigue and beauty, using techniques similar to those used by scientists to understand the natural world. In our systems the sensation or illusion of life is our key interest rather than a desire to cr

Like technology, nature refuses to rest. In a fast changing world the boundaries between the mechanics of nature and technology are blurring. This is reflected in the artworks within Tumbling Dream Chambers as they function as machines and organisms alike

A catalogue is available price 7 Euro.

ELECTRIC PAINT

25 May - 30 June 2007

EELCO BRAND, Netherlands

Eelco Brand came from painting, before he discovered the advantages of the computer. His animations, short movies of 1 1/2 to 2 minutes condense strong emotional moments and draw our attention to experiences, which seemed negligible at the time.

His pictures relate to nature landscapes, but have been developed into something else.

THE ALGORISTS

20 March - 14 May 2007

HANS DEHLINGER, USA

META REFRESH

Explosion - Deconstruction
26 January - 10 March 2007

HOLGER LIPPMANN, Germany

After two years, when we presented "run into flowers", the new series of work seems very different compared to the earlier ornamental abstractions. Holger Lippmann shows animations and prints, which are dealing with sequences of explosions.

The explosion, a daily topic, which we have become used to. Or not?
